Okay, so I know its been a while
since I posted about our "new room"
but here it is--
the step by step show and tell
of how we made our own headboard....
step one/a: go to Lowe's to get the plywood
step one/b: go to your local fabric store to
choose your favorite fabric. Also, pick up
some extra thick batting.
step two: measure where button holes will
be going and drill holes.

step three: clean saw dust off wood

step four: put glue onto wood

step five: apply batting to glue

step six: iron fabric
step seven: staple fabric onto the now
batting covered plywood

step eight: smile at the camera to
show off your wonderful stapeling job!

step nine: make buttons, attach them to wire,
and ever-so-carefully push the wire through
the incredibly thick batting. Then, pull tight
and staple wire to wood.
step ten: have someone...even if

step ten: have someone...even if
that someone is only 3 years old...find
out where your studs are in your wall.
step eleven: hang your new headboard!
It was a lot of fun. We loved doing it
together and we SO MUCH enjoy
having this new addition in our room.
The end.

so awesome! i love diy projects. it is the only way to go. i love how luke is right there with greg helping with the tools. i was telling dave a story greg told me when he was here about when he pulls his tools out to fix something, luke gets his play tools and comes to help. dave about welled up and balled his eyes out. he wants a boy so bad... :)
